Duchess - is reserved and will be bonded with Alfie
Duchess came to the rescue on 15th January 2011 along with Cupcake, but the females have been kept separately. She is a lion-head and, as you can see from the picture, she is a rather overweight as she has been fed on muesli mix and high carbohydrate ‘treats’.
We will obviously need to gradually reduce her calorie intake and increase her exercise so that she can lose some weight. She will be neutered as soon she has lost a little weight to reduce the risk of any complications with the operation – it is more difficult for the vet to neuter overweight bunnies.
Once Duchess has been neutered she will be ready for bonding with a neutered male - 2 weeks after she has been spayed. She appears to be very placid & does not struggle when picked up, although she has not had much socialising before coming to the rescue. Duchess is about a year old and is sadly the result of an impulse buy from a pet shop.
